RSPS - Less Popular?

With the latest massive update to Runescape, re-instating Free Trade/Wild, RSPS should have lost some popularity. However, botting has absolutely flourished. I'd like to hear your thoughts on if this update has made RSPS lose some users, or if it's still going strong.
 
I don't play private server but it would make sense that they would lose a good amount of members with the Free Trade. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if someone played on both.
 
I'm one of the people who enjoys both. I like the simplicity of Runescape Private Servers, and the activity of Runescape. It's a nice mix.
 
Dude it's most definitely taken a chunk out of the players. If server owners want their players back they're going to have to code something amazing.
 
I had a server since June 2010, PvP 508, had about 100+ on at all times, well maybe 50+, but after the free trade came out I lost players and only had like 10-20 and no one was donating, so I lost a lot... :/ So yeah it has died down, a lot.
 
If you have an active website & ads, you make money from that. Otherwise, it's just donations.


It's sad to see the RSPS community reduced so much, we should bring it back somehow.
 
I don't really see the need to bring it back simply because jagex has returned our main want. Then again I've never been a member of the other community
 
Well, there's still some reason to play them. Like, easier accounts and such. I don't know, maybe RSPS just needs something unique to bring activity back.
 
Ah fuck it! I am making my own RSPS. Reaper, which debob?
 
Do you mean deob? Well, it all depends. 317 are easiest to code, and good for beginners. Find a delta source and start there.

Yeah, I meant deob, but I am not a beginner. Well I know 508 coding. PI > DSPK ;p. But we will see.
 
Delta is good for learning the basics of the 317/474. If you know Delta, then you can adapt to PI. If you'd rather just jump into it, download a good PI source.

Okay, best of luck! I may have one sitting around on my computer. If not, I may need to pop over to an RSPS site to find it. I could re-release it here.
 
I think the majorly popular RSPS, like DeltaScape, have seen a drop in members, but not drastically, how-ever the market is still there.
 
Ehh, I used to love playing Rsps. When the free trade came out I probably played Rsps for another two weeks, quit and then started to bot in rs . I completely quit RSPS when I found Minecraft .
