Romeo & Juliet misfortune essay
Period 1
3/3/15
English 1

In the play written by William Shakespeare it had a lot of ups & downs with some plot twist, Saying that Throughout the play, Romeo and Juliet blame fate for all of the misfortune they experience. While some scholars agree with the tragic couple, others believe Romeo and Juliet’s poor decisions make them responsible for their own misfortune.

In Act 3, Romeo is mad about Mercutio's death and once Tybalt comes back inside the room Romeo becomes more upset that Tybalt is proud about him slaying Mercutio.Tybalt threatens Romeo. Romeo was pissed so he takes the threat, and fights Tybalt until Romeo ends up killing Tybalt. There is no evidence that fate had anything to do with it. Leaving was an option that Romeo had and he decided to slay Tybalt (Juliet’s Cousin). Once he slays Tybalt he ends up getting exiled from the city.

While fate is the reason for the death of Juliet, it is really because of the Capulet's failing in loss of control, and the Friar Laurence’s selfishness and bad news sending skills is a major part of Romeo & Juliet’s deaths. Friar Laurence did not realize the serious of what may happen. As I predicted of Romeo not getting the Laurence’s letter, Romeo came to believe that his wife is dead,So he buys poison and went to his wife's side & ends up killing himself. Sadly his wife (Juliet) was not dead she was just under the drug Friar gave her. Juliet wakes up while Romeo finished drinking the poison and ends up staring him in his eyes before he dies & grabs Romeo’s dagger from his boot. Once she grabbed it she stabbed herself in the heart and died ontop of him. Before all of this Romeo slayed Paris out of angry for finding out his love Juliet has supposedly committed suicide.

At first it seems all Romeo wants is a new name so him & Juliet could be happy, it is actually Friar John's fault for not going to exactly where Romeo was at, as ordered by Friar Laurence. The final part of the play did Romeo & Juliet dirty. As Juliet wakes up from the drug and asks for Romeo. The Friar should have stayed with Juliet, knowing that she was in no place to deal with her husband’s death. The play Romeo and Juliet brings out a theme of fate, which turns out only to be surface deep.

Since fate did not have Romeo & Juliet’s side hopefully fate has my side when you’re grading this. In my opinion this is one of the best essays I’ve wrote so far. Other than that let me conclude this essay. Although Romeo and Juliet blame fate for all of the misfortune they experience, It is pretty much not there fault. In fully I blame Friar John & Friar Laurence for not making sure Romeo got his note on time. If they would of have delivered it on time Romeo & Juliet could still be alive. This play I would personally give it a 8/10 for the length of it I did not become bored in any part of this play even though some was longer than the others.

Opinions? turned this in already , wrote it in 2 hours cant really complain
