Was watching this TV show today, and basically it was the WorldCup (football) for robots.
The robots ranged from small mug sized things, to lifesize robots, purposly designed and created for football.
There was a few which were basically cars, but the others were modeled around humans. Obviously they didnt have skin and everything but you get the idea.
But yer, these little contraptions which cost around 15,000 euros (for a medium foot tall sized robot) are self controlled and have no human controlling them via remote control, which im far too familar with.
These robots could comunicate with each other for passing, and for dribbling, and detecting where the goals were.
It was quite facinating. But the most surprising thing was, that the goalies could actually save!
Yes, the robots could do the splits, jump and block.
And then as a little extra, they could also stand up if they fall over.
Its truely amazing what you can do with a bit of $ and knowledge.
RoboCup was a true example of Artifical Inteligence.
