And? How does something inspiring people (All be it not a lot of GP) bring bad harm?

Even if i do win, I'll be donating 75% of it back to the forum to sponsor a contest.


EDIT : I post everyday also, Like you, How does it mean i'm now smashing my hands against my keyboard to win this 50m?

RG shouldn't just been known as a forums were you could come here and post threads for money but a forums of smart educated people discussing runescape or debating

I never asociated this forums with it being a place you can come, post threads and receive money..

I see it as a helpful forum, with something i am interested in, and a great community. Ontop of that they hold competitions to make the forum grow, Whats so bad?
 

you really don't you're spamming the forums writing on every single thread i am pretty sure if i look at your logs i might see one or two post
 

Yes, i admit tonight i have posted more than usual, But i always post, I'd say tonight i have made 40 posts. But that doesn't mean i'm spamming.

oh wow thanks didn't notice and i didn't consider us arguing just having a discussion but i am saying just don't post when theres a contest
 
Ok, Discussion, But what i'm trying to say, When there is something there to motivate people, They'll go for it.

Also, I do post, just not as much. After this contest is over, For you i'll post this much.

They get motivated to post low quality stuff, besides the motivation is a virtual cash prize. If the motivator was something that doesn't appeal to people's greediness perhaps there would be more high quality posts.
 

I agree, A lot of the posts are low quality crap, But i dont think i'm posting low quality.
Then again, Its not upto me to decide.

Hence they are just doing it for the prize. If there was no prize or a different motivator people would post in threads that really interested them, thus giving what they post some thinking. I've always preferred quality over quantity.
 
All Day Win, I've actually discussed it with the TE. He told me that he does this for activity, but the upgrades and the activity are not the main reason why he does it, it's for the content. He stated that the more threads posted, the more indexed by Google. Stop hating, I'm sure these won't go on forever, he's just getting the content rolling.
 
i was never hating i just think theirs a better way to get traffic then spammers and such and this is all a rant i know i can't do anything to stop it i just posted this to let everyone know my feelings about contest such as this
 
Well I do like the contest. I am going to be more active in the hope I win. That being said I will still be reading the thread, posting in detail, and not posting in anything that doesn't interest me.
