The good old times I don't participate in these ever since the first one ended, I just report all spam/lq lol
 
Welcome to the inter-webs my friend, where all the kiddies of the world unite to make a buck off of each other.

I know this is probably going to bite me in the ass soon enough but what the hell, I've always been about speaking my mind; just like all these people are suddenly running mad for that prize, these contests are starting to get quite dull and redundant, not to mention the idea behind them is always the same --stay active.

I don't want to reign on his parade but TE needs to start coming up with more original contest ideas. I mean, sure, it's not something he's gonna go around saying for obvious reasons, so I'll do it for him, but his main concern is the ensure the continuity of his forum's traffic. That's why all these contests don't really have strict guidelines. As long as you guys are all posting, LQ or not, his traffic flow is increasing his site revenue.

Not to mention, I doubt anyone missed his opportunity to sneak this sucker in;


The contest prize is not only in all of your best interests but it is so for him too.

So in summation, OP I feel you. But that's just the way it is. Keep in mind the average age for users on this forum is like 14-15 so they don't know much better. And if you're trying to have someone take action by making this thread, you're better of giving up while you're ahead.
 

I still don't know how you got that PM as I didn't . Maybe he doesn't send it to everyone though xD.

Not sure but I'm pretty sure it wasn't only intended for staff and mods and that he sent it to others as well because it explains upgrading.
 
These contests also gain new members, who may stay around for the exceptional content. Many forums do it. But some new contests wouldn't hurt.

that's just the way shit happens, personally i could care less since i haven't been to the latest comp. thread nor do i plan to.

I didn't join this forum for prizes, but i guarantee a small percent of RG did.

I feel TE does it because it inspires people to post and work for something, Thus making his forum bigger, Thus bringing in more members and more money.

Helps TE bring in a lot of traffic and helps expand the forum, can get out of control sometimes but thats what we have mods for
