Synopsis

Imagine it, build it! Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition lets you create worlds from the comfort of your sofa. Play alone or play with your friends. Explore, build and conquer! At night monsters come out, so make sure to build a shelter before that happens. After that, your world is your imagination. Turn your hours into minutes with Minecraft!

Gameplay

Build, dig, explore, discover! Minecraft Xbox Edition delivers the same great gameplay as Minecraft PC, with a few new features. Minecraft Xbox Edition features the Minecraft PC 1.6 update where maps were first introduced, tutorial mode, leaderboards, and multiplayer. In multiplayer, you can have up to 4 player split screen, and up to 8 players online co-op, and of course without any lag! I have heard rumors that there is going to be game updates such as the PC version had, but I have not been able to find a reliable source to support this.

Graphics

The graphics are pretty much the same as Minecraft PC, simple, and smooth. According to Mojang, custom Minecraft skins, and texture packs will be available for Minecraft Xbox Edition users to use in their, and other worlds in the near future.

Controls

The controls for Minecraft Xbox Edition were the most interesting feature of this game. There are the basic jump, move, crouch, place, dig, and 3rd person view, but then there is the crafting table. The crafting table seemed a bit confusing and hard to use at first, but once you get use to it, and know where everything is located, it is fairly simple.

My Final Thoughts On Minecraft Xbox Edition

As much as I love minecraft, I was a little bit disappointed in the Xbox version. You are charged 1600 msp for the game (price of full pc version). and in return, get an earlier beta release of the game. There are a lot of missing features that I was looking forward to seeing on the Xbox edition, and was let down. I hope 4J Studios and Mojang are planning on adding free updates to the game, because if not, it was not worth the msp. If you want to get the best game experience playing minecraft, I recommend you stick with the PC version.

OVERALL RATING: 6.6/10

It didn't take you long to come up with that review. I actually haven't played Minecraft yet because I haven't gone out to get a 1600 card yet. >.<

I know, I played it for about 3 hours today before I decided to write the review. I'm also working on another review of a game that I played last night as I waited for Minecraft to come out. I'll try and get that posted later tonight.

How much does it cost?

Read the review and you'll find out.

Excellent review, Hayden. Glad to have someone like you in here who's actually devoted to filling up the Game Reviews section.

Continue posting reviews when you have the time. Also, on topic, I'm probably going to buy Minecraft for the Xbox 360 tonight. 1,600 Microsoft points isn't too much.

If you have 1600 Microsoft points, I would recommend you buy Trials Evolution instead of Minecraft.

What is the current version?

The current version is 1.6 beta. That's what I based my review on. I also got a lot of hate for my review on other sites.
