Reputation Moderation

I would like to suggest that reputation moderation is handled more thoroughly. I see legitimate negative reputation reasons being removed from users' profiles just because they reported it. That's not fair, and there's no point of having a negative reputation feature if we're not entitled to leave our valid opinions without them being deleted.

From my perspective, it seems as if the moderation team swiftly come along and check the reputation reports then remove the negative reputation without firstly reviewing it. I'm not trying to badmouth the moderators/staff, but we need thorough moderation when it comes to reputation issues.

I'm not going to individualize any members on ForumKorner, but someone had eight negative reputations on their profile, reported them, and then they were removed afterwards.

They were all valid reputation reasons. It's silly that they're removed just because the user reported them all.

Well I have one negative rep I think it should be deleted but I do agree with what your saying

It's true. Negative rep gets removed all the time for bullshit reasons. Lots of the time I can just report all my neg rep for the lulz and lots of it gets removed. Some of my neg rep even gets removed without me reporting it.

Yeah, that sounds about right. And before you think I was talking about you on my thread, it wasn't towards anyone in particular, just the community.

I 100% agree staff remove negs just because they are negs. and on top of that people cant handle negs on this forum

I honestly suggest removing the rep system as a whole or at least the report rep feature (Leave it 2 pms)

Thanks for your input. I was going to suggest having a staff member who moderates reputation. Something similar to Judge Dredd on HackForums, but that probably wouldn't work either.

I used to do that back in the day and it worked perfectly. Then you just hand out warns 2 people that waste said staff members time.

All active HQ staff have gone now and it seems like FK is being ran by kids.

It needs to be moderated more fairly, not removed.

That's like telling a little boy he can't have candy because it's bad for him. It will do no justice to remove the system.I say someone that has the time, and isn't well connected with members *I don't know, maybe Philly can pull a friend off site*. Could review the rep, I mean that idea has so many flaws in it's logic by itself. Either way, I suggest we just find a new way to manage the reputation system instead of removing it.

Reputation keeps people in line. Someone can be a bitch all over the forums, but you won't know unless you thoroughly check their posts.
Reputation can tell you about a person before you even speak with them. Post count and awards can't do that, and it will save you the trouble of having to look through the person's posts.

B) The mistake you and every other retard make on FK is that reputation = trust IT DOES NOT AT ANY TIME EVER EQUAL TRUST EVER. Rep is a measure of how much the community likes you and thats it. Vouches = Trust This is another reason i want it removed

C) Rep can tell you at best how HQ or LQ a person is but the thing is on FK all you need 2 do is rep4rep with everyone and anyone can hit 800 rep in a month LOL regardless of wether they are HQ or not EX; Crate

No, reputation does not determine a person's trust level, but it determines the worth of a person's account, and you shouldn't buy something that is worth more than the seller's account. That's how you get scammed.

Yes, people can and do rep4rep all the time, but it's still time and worth put onto that person's account.
