Remembrance Day/Veterans Day

So since it IS November 11th. I just want to make a thread in honor of veterans of past, present and future. Being a veteran myself, I find is very important to remember what has happened in the past and what is still happening today.

In Flanders Field

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly

We are the Dead. Short days ago

Hope everyone at least goes out and pay some respect to those who have fought for your freedom, one form or the next. Enjoy the day.

(Yes I'm late with the thread, I was in a parade this morning. Just got home.)

I actually have a very close friend who I met through this organization " Adopt a soldier " . This was when I was in 3rd grade, and I've kept in contact with him for all this time, just being able to send somebody candy and books and being able to talk to them was an amazing learning experience for me. Happy Veterans Day to you all!
