Ok so for some reason whenever i connect to wifi on my computer i get this red X over the wifi bars or sometimes i get this little yellow sun like thing. Can someone tell me how to fix this because the bars never show up white.

Red X means no connection, Yellow means there's a connection but can't identify it.

I've never heard of that, it's must be graphical or little mishap on your computer.

I wish i knew how to fix it. I seriously can't stand it. Someone please help!

Yea x means not connected and sun means sees networks but not connected you prolly have a lil error I wouldn't worry about it until you cannot connect or talk to fear he works for geek squad maybe he knows

Wow for me it shows he is not on aim. I seriously need help fixing this.

If you've bridged your connections for Xbox or anything, then it will show that you don't have a wireless connection when you really do. It's just a little glitch.

Are you running more then one netword adapter ? one could be connected while the other isnt.
If you just have 1 running then try to update your wifi adapter drivers.
Or another way to fix it is to do a system restore to a point where it was working correctly, or do a system format.

Unbridge it if you want to restore the bar icon thing-y. But if it's to your Xbox, you won't be able to connect to xbl anymore. So it's up to you.

If you have connection to everything else and all it does is just show the X, I would not worry about it as much.

Weird man. I have the red X but have connection, I believe that is because my connection is bridged? Not sure

Edit: just read thread, pretty sure that's what very one is talking about.

It happens on mine and im connected through ethernet with no bridges...

Would that involve me losing everything?

Well if you have a lot of stuff just transfer it to a external hard drive. Than transfer it back.

If that's the case it's not that big of a deal, i'm sure there are other ways to fix it.
