Hey guys I have a quick question. How do you create commentary on YouTube videos? I have a hauppauge hd pvr. Can you just plug in a mic in an outlet, or what? Also, do I need a special mic for it?

Just use audacity to record your voice and then put it over the video in sony vegas or something.

What is audacity? And do I need a mic to record my voice on the video?

Yes you need a mic to record your voice.

Btw- Audacity is a free sound recording and editing software.

Once you have the clip, drag it into a move editor (Sony Vegas, Pinnacle Studio 12, ect) then There will be an option to add a voice over. I used to use my mic from my laptop,
