I think it only hides you from the "Who's Online" list. I'm not 100% sure, though.
 
You should enable it once, post back here when it's enabled, and I'll let you know if it does so.
 
I guess it only, truly, hides your from the list..
 
I heard it only works on the non upgraded members. Not sure though, but the star next to your name looks nice.

I wouldn't like it. Just because I like people to know when I'm on or offline.
 
It shows you as offline for all members besides upgraded members, as they can see who is appearing offline.
 
I also have mine set to offline but it still says I'm onlne which confuses me.. .-.

Edit : I didn't see Philly post my bad. Now I understand this hide offline feature.
