Question about banned tags

Since there's the Smartglass app now, if I were to purchase a banned tag, and recover it on my xbox, am I still able to send messages or a friend request on the tag?

i wanna impress some nerds at my school init
 
Don't mean to hijack your thread or anything but I was kinda wondering if you could actually do anything with a banned GT.

Nope, I just wanted to know if you were still able to send messages as I think you were allowed to before.

Yeah that's what I thought. I've seen a couple banned GTs that I liked but if you can't do anything with it, why even bother?

I would imagine that would be pretty damn hard but I get it. Too bad MS doesn't just reset all the old banned an/or inactive tags already. It seems like a shame to waste a perfectly good GT just because some user did something dumb.

The market would be fucked, you could claim 3 letters / chars like it was nobodies business.

I'm 99% sure MS made it to where you can no longer send FRs/messages from banned gamertags.
 
Due to the new Xbox.com update I'm pretty sure you can't do anything with a banned tag it won't let you view it in mobile version either. As for smart glass I'm unsure never tried
 
Has anybody even tried using the smart glass app?
 
Not going to read everyones posts but i dont think u can use smartglass on a banned tag. But I have a banned tag if u wanna buy mine. GT: Com*lains

Yes please, I understand you can't send messages on xbox.com but if the smart glass app works OMG :$
 
A banned account is pointless you can do literally nothing with it.
 
No you cannot. You could accept friend requests and send them but not anymore.
