Quality?

I'd like to take your opinions on this.

What makes a person or post 'high quality' in your eyes ?
Why do you consider them or it as 'high quality' ?

I've seen a lot of members to refer to themselves as 'HQ', so I want to know what in their minds makes them think themselves as that.

Sticking to the on topic related thread proving support etc, and using Correct punctuation and Grammar.

Personally, when it comes to defining someone as 'high-quality', it's usually due to their devotion to their account. For example, you have a member who rarely makes any posts on the forums, but a majority of the responses he/she creates are informative and you can easily notice that the member has spent a lot of time on their post.

Spelling, punctuation and grammar can also deem someone high-quality, but not always. It's just like the Grammar Nazi award; not everyone who has obtained that award is high-quality, but people presume they are because of a miniature icon. Anyways, you can be foreign and not have extensive knowledge of the English language, but you may be more devoted to assisting users than those who actually have English as their primary language.

The members who lurk in the midsts and in the shadows, who only respond to threads because they wish to assist another user, or they only create a thread because they want to enhance ForumKorner or benefit the members; that's my definition of 'high-quality'. Also those members who will go out of their way to extensively assist a member through private messages because they want to be helpful, and they don't care about being perceived as 'helpful' on the forums for a higher overall post count/reputation.

Those are my two cents.

I think people who are nice are high quality. The people who aren't only around to make money. The people who don't ever really get mad at anyone, flame at anyone, or talk negativity about another user behind their back or not. It's one thing if someone scammed you, but it's another if someone is just being themself trying to enjoy the forum. High quality people are also care free but know when to be serious. They finish what they start, and they don't turn their back on people....

I could go on and on, but you get the point. I think anyone who shows the qualities of a leader is high quality, and a good amount of helpful posts & threads wouldn't hurt. :)

Well in my eyes, a HQ member types with proper spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and grammar. Their posts also show that they thoroughly read over the thread and put time and consideration into their post. That's really all I think a HQ member is.

And to what other people said above about flaming or being negative, I think HQ members can be negative. There's tons of reasons to be negative. Scammers, spammers, etc.

i'm not even kidding i remember when i was 8 and always thought i was tough shit and i was cool and thought i was HQ because i typed with correct grammar/spelling.

anyone that still thinks that is what makes a hq user is a dumbass and can eat squirrel sperm.

nobody gives ten flying shits if you type with capitalized letters.

the only thing that makes a "hq" member is if they're posts are all useful and are not spam, and if theyre funny af and actually have a name in the community.

Vouch, this statement is correct.

Who cares about being HQ on a forum.
Just be yourself, you dont have to have dictionary.com open 24/7 because you want everyone to 'think' your HQ.
