"Sony's Jack Tretton issues some clarifying marks on the PS Vita and when we can expect to see its next generation portable.
Speaking with Geoff Keighley on GameTrailers, Tretton said that Sony was shooting to get the Vita out by the end of the fiscal year for all regions. Keighley smartly followed up and Tretton clarified that Sony's fiscal year ends March 31, 2012 but that the Vita would launch in at least one region by the end of 2011.
As expected of a Japanese company, the first region to get the PS Vita will be Japan with North America and Europe following later.
Tretton says that production capacity and demand will be the deciding factor on when Sony's new handheld is launched. However, he did say that the reaction to the $249.99/$299.99 price was positive so demand is likely to be strong."
