So yesterday I purchased an OG Gamertag. NOT SAYING WHAT IT WAS YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO TRUST ME. I began to swap the day of me getting the account, which I guess was stupid. But I tried for a long while, rapid pressing A and trying to get the Gamertag. All night it would say it's taken but when I added the gamertag, it wouldn't say it existed. I've heard this was a glitch so I tried it for a long time last night.

Eventually I got bored, went to sleep and this morning I call up xbox support, telling them it was a friends gamertag, and I tried getting it

Heres my responses:

- "Sorry it's gone, may I recommend trying another tag replacing any letters with numbers." - Person 1 (Online Xbox Support Chat)

- "Most account's take 7 years before your able to recover them, I'm sorry but your going to have to try monthly to get this tag." - Person 2 (Xbox Support Phone)

Is it just me or are these bullshit responses?

This is like what happened to the tag "Epic"
If it was a 3letter or 3character, sometimes the tag
will get deleted. I lost two 3letter tags trying swap them.
If it was a spaced version of a v1, you have lost it.
Hope you get this worked out man.

It wasn't spaced, but thats pretty ridiculous, they should really be able to fix that.. Pretty stupid on their part.

alot of 2 letters/2 characters and 3 letters/3 characters have this problem. they are "rares" so when they get changed, they get deleted. ive heard this happening to some other tags. but it is very unlikely. but sadly, from my knowledge. there is nothing you can do about it.
 

It's a 7 letter original, wish there was a way to fix it, hopefully someone can, but thanks for letting me know
 
ya, this happened to tag "Aer" a couple of years ago.
It said it doesn't exist but no one had it. A couple of months later,
my friend got it when he went to change his name.

Really hope that I can have that luck, I'm really hesitant towards buying another OG, Just got really unlucky with this one :/ lmao

@Phenom: Yes, it was lol good guess, Also do you mind getting rid of where you say the GT the less people that know the better in case they ever fix it lol

@Keeby: IK its terrible, wish they could do something about it, No one took it but still its bad
 

Sure man just removed the tag out my post, i knew it would be that tag i was going to buy it today i added as a friend and its been deleted.

nope, im phenom, im using a silver account as i dont have a console at the moment, ive also got horizon and check using gamercard viewer and the tag has been deleted.

Maybe Phone up
 
Only thing I can think of is a spaced version of the tag, Are you 100% sure there is no other versions of it.

110% Sure, checked Zune, checked spaced versions, everything
 
Maybe I'll just try once every day for the next 7 years like the lady on the phone told me... lmfao
 
Bro I am sorry this happen to you, but in all fairness I did warn you. I think someone turbo'd you and just haven't claimed it yet, hopefully I am wrong and I hope you get it back.
