Probational Staff - Opinions?

Like, one or two members are put on Probation for one week and are basically tried out as Moderator.

Not only would this help Staff interact better with users, but you get to see what they would be like should they be in such a position.

Opinions?

EDIT: This isn't to say they're guaranteed Staff, it's just to see how they act etc. They might never become Staff.

We had this on RuneRevolution. They were put on a trial for 72 hours, and if they did their job well, they got promoted to an official moderator.
 
I suggested this before Nestea was staff, but it kind of just blew over.

Anyways, we are good on staff now. The timezones are evenly distributed.
 
I don't really see why we need more staff but if we did I don't see how it could hurt anything

Not really even is it.
 
I kinda think it would cause problems to be honest.. cause if one member is put on as a trial moderator, and then gets it stripped from him, he'd rage.

Well the same thing would happen if he got it and did bad anyways, wouldn't it?

Yeah, Canada, Australia I thought?

But, the Staff are evenly distributed in Time Zones, I think at least 1 is on pretty much all the times or at least try to be.
 
I don't think we need more staff, but if there ever comes a time where one more is needed, this would be a good idea to test them out.

We did this on my old site
If they prove them self to Do their job properly as a moderator in their section Then we would Trial them as staff

Some people cant handle the power
Some people cant handle the work
Some people just Like being moderator of their little section
 
The staff are basically RuneGear members that are amazing/ somewhat good members that are distrubed through time-zones. Perfect as can be, Anything the Super Mod's don't pick up. The Sectional Moderators will.
 
I am pretty sure he is not from AUS, and his skype timezone says that it is 4:51 PM, so I don't really know. I am waiting for a response from him.
