My question is: is everything so far compatible with each other, and what motherboard will I need to properly install all of these parts together, and what else do I need?

Get the cooler, not the case. Any old case will do. I have a friend who made his case out of k'nexs.

16GB's of RAM is overkill. You didn't list a CPU so I can't recommend a MOBO.

With that RAM you could get this motherboard.

I'll hopefully be purchasing the same thing in the near future. (Suggested by @"Adam" awhile back.)
Interesting, noted that. Will compare it with whatever MOBO Adam reccomends.

I'm alright with a little future-proofing, but I'll cut it down to 8b. Cut costs as well, can you recommend a good good one? Also added CPU to op.

What will you actually be doing on it?

I've actually never built my own computer before. I probably will in the future though. I've heard it is extremely east now....like putting together legos. Lol.
