You can see the sections and also last posts but when you click on them you will be redirected to the register page? If yes, then it's good.

Nope, that is what i am saying. We should make it do that. Currently guests can view threads.

I can do it if needed, give me admin permission for 5 mins as i own a mybb board so know how to if your stuck .

No, when I click "Hide for Guests" it shows the forums with "-" post count.
I want it to show post count and threads, but no being able to see the content of the thread.
