My friend is -$4,000 and he wants to know if anything will happen to him lol

If his (or his parents') real name/information is on the account, collections agencies will go after him and his (or his parents') credit will be insta-fucked.

Collection department will call him a few times but if your account isn't verified they most likely won't take an further actions ie. coming to your house, mailing you letters, contacting authorities.

I was only negative $40 and it'd cost them more to take further action then to do anything, but what they did was kept emailing me saying if I don't fix it they'll go to collection agency.
I didn't do anything, they went to collection agency. I didn't do anything, then a few weeks later (after the date) paypal emailed saying I paid it off even though I did absolutely nothing.

But for your friend, $4k is obviously so far away from $40, so if it's real info they'll actually do something.

Yeah, for small amounts they don't really take further action other than the odd email or so, but for 4k, he's fucked lol.

The real question is, why is he -4000?

I was negative $100 on my mom's PayPal account they first limited my account then started sending me emails, after that letters to my house saying that like the account now belonged to a collection agency.

I mean, is it actually like he owes it?? Or was it done on Paypal Credit? Because if paypal credit and not real information is on the account, then fuck it.

Worst case they'll get a money collecting agency that works with paypal to harass you into giving the money back, nothing happens to you if you don't give the money back. I "owe" $400+ and i have not paid a single penny and they have stopped sending me letters and emails.

I owed $20 and after 3 months they just closed the account, but for $4k they probably gonna get the mexican drug cartel on your ass. I suggest your friend invents in buttplugs.
