Oscar award winning movie from your country?

There are many Oscar winning movies in the world till now. From my country Nepal Munamadan named film has won the Oscar award. Which movie from your country has won Oscar award?
 
So far we have none, The Philippines is not lucky enough to get an award from Oscar but we have several good films that have merited nomination for best foreign film. Sad to admit, we lost several times but we are very hopeful that one day, we will get that elusive Oscar trophy. One good Philippine film, "HImala" on the other hand, was named "CNN Best Film Of all times". We are proud of this film that showcased Filipino religious beliefs, and it starred one of our superstar, Nora Aunor who's now US based.

its been very disappointing that my country movies have never won any oscar award though there are many nominations for that.
there are individuals who have won the oscars for their contributions in overseas flims such as music director,are designer,but never a movie won a oscar.
i am really looking forward for few great movies to be released in the future who can really win the oscar.
 
i agree with edger20 it is one of the most favorite movies of all time, it had been nominated in some of the most prestigious award winning contests here in our country and abroad.
 
From my country India, there was Gandhi. It was a very long time ago. Slumdog Millionaire won the Oscar a couple of years ago. Although it was a Hollywood production and technically not an Indian movie, the music director A R Rahman was Indian and he won two Oscars for that movie.

i have watched that movie myself and everything was pictured so well that there is no comparison with other movies that i have watched.the story line, the cast, the picture quality all was wonderful
 
“God of Love,” directed by Luke Matheny and produced by Filipino-Americans Gigi Dement, Stefanie Walmsley and Stephen Dypiangco, won the Best Live Action Short Film in Sunday’s Academy Awards.
i think this one from philippines my country wins for the oscar awards
