Opinions on Windows 10?

Well Windows 10 came out a couple days ago for free. I dont know what my opinion is of it yet but im probably gonna get it soon. I tried reserving it to download as soon as it first came out and I still haven't got it.

What are your guys opinions?

So many people got scared due to them thinking they like compromised your personal shit idk. I didn't get it because I am lazy.

I think its quite nice - Icons look more stylish, it is somewhat feels faster (well, this is my experience) - it also seems easier to multi-task.

The new search bar on the toolbar is a great feature personally as you can search for web items with it and you can search locally.

Not really a fan of the Microsoft Edge program, whatever its called (Its basically Internet Explorer) - First few times I used it, it froze - so dont really like it too much.

Files look much cleaner on the toolbar and within file explorer and so on.

You can no longer swipe to the right to display the Windows 8 + 8.1 options, tbh, everything has been moved into the start menu, if we want to be honest.

Apart from that, that is the main difference between 8 and 8.1

I've been to the Microsoft HQ in Reading as a visitor recently and they pretty much summed up the mentioned topics above with Lync / Skype for business (which doesnt interest me in all honesty, however they mentioned this to be quite effective within the new os)

I quite like it, sometimes it lags a little but there are constant updates fixing the bugs

I would prefer it if they brought some of the stuff back from the Dev preview... I was using it for about 8 months and got so used to it, then they changed it again in the consumer release.

I don't think they know what they are doing with the OS anymore. But GG on Hololens.

I think it's great. There are a few bugs that Microsoft has to work out, but when they do, Windows 10 will be the best Windows OS.

Persoanlly, Windows Edge is not the greatest thing. It's still slow, but an improvement from IE.

I love all the new icons and how the layout and style of everything is. It's really modern and looks great.

The search feature, which has Cortana, is simply amazing. You can search the store, your computer, and the web all at the same time. It also has the ability to do voice searches.

Coming with this upgrade, I felt a small speed improvement. I don't know if this will happen to everyone though. However, Win 10 is much more compact than Win 8.

The start menu is back, thank God. They also removed charm bar, which I always hated.

I love the multitasking. From there, you can add more desktops.


Overall, Windows 10 is a great upgrade/install. I feel Windows has taken a taken a path in the right direction. They fixed everything they got wrong in 8/8.1. I hope this ends the cycle of bad Window OS's

tbh i love it, i love the xbox app and features. I havent tried out the xbl party chat on it but i heard good reviews

Quick question I don't feel like backing up everything I have on my PC do you lose all your shit like you did when you upgraded to Win 8.1 or what? I might try it but idk I'm not about loosing all my programs and shit.

I didn't loose anything when I updated. Everything stays the same, programs, desktop everything, you shouldn't have any problems.
