Opinions on government

I was recently watching a video and I saw a quote that really describes my opinion towards government.

"The greatest form of control is when you think you’re free-when you’re being fundamentally manipulated and dictated to. One form of dictatorship is when you’re in a prison cell and can see and touch the bars. The other form is sitting in a prison cell where you cannot see the bars, and thinking you are free."

So I was wondering what your opinion was on the matter?

This section is referred to as "General Discussion". I believe a topic such as this is relatively general and should be discussed as I would like to hear other's opinions. Thanks for your irrelevant post boosting though lad.
