OK, whats the story with wikipedia?

People always go on about how they can just go on and edit an article and make it say willy silly shit, but I don't think that's possible. So can you actually edit a Wikipedia article or does it just edit it for your IP address?
Also why do people go on about Wikipedia isn't accurate? Don't all the information you post need sources or something?

No, anyone can change anything. It will revert back to it's normal article if someone that works for Wikipedia sees it and they will change it back.
