I suggest, effective immediately, that all actions performed in the lobby do not merit any points for whomever posts them. That being said, I'd love it if all posts, new threads, polls, voting in polls, replying to a thread, viewing/visiting pages and visiting; all that stuff would not give members points if performed in the lobby.

Anywhere else on the forum is OK but not in the lobby. It makes it easy for users to posts senseless topics that steadily decrease in importance as they keep posting them.

It's like I post a thread #1: What is your faveorite fruit? Mine are apples.

Thread #2: Have you every played a sport before?

Thread #3: How many hours of sleep do you get, are you always tired?

I mean what the hell! For chrissake, these pointless threads are annoying as shit.

Poll above. :happy2:

I have been speaking to Solidify and I suggested he could suggest this.

I think this is a completely reasonable request.

I support.

I second this, there are to many pointless threads from people trying to gain Rg points

If they stop making pointless threads in the lobby, they will do it somewhere else.

Just noticed, who are the people who voted against this?

/fail.

The Lobby posts and actions only receive 0.75 of the normal points, that's a good limitation.

Most people are RG Elite/Sponsor therefore it's 1-1.25 per post.

I think it should be 0.25 or 0.50 at the max if we do have points, however I think points shouldn't be gained in the Lobby.

Then they'll be warned. Isn't that what staff is there for?

Discussions are allowed in the lobby but not when you start all your threads with 'What do you think?' or 'Do you like this.."

If you want to trace the problem back down to it's roots its that the guidelines for the contest aren't strict enough. IF management would make those changes, there would be no need to post those useless threads at all. There's so many contests, MOTM, AOTM, this contest now, etc. all to promote the site's activity but what no one realizes is that we're gone become like HF; huge but full of fucking idiots. Start slow, take your time to grow and do it right. Promoting activity on a site shouldn't be a race.

Most likely the people that are either winning or close to winning. Skids.

Ya it's less than elsewhere but because its a place where you can post just about anything, it doesn't make all the difference.

I support this, definitely a lot of pointless threads there

I get why you want to do this but it won't solve what you're against. Those who want to post will just go into another section and manage to do the exact same. I believe it would cause an overflow of unnecessary posts into another section.

PLEASE let this go through. 3/4th of the posts people make are pointless and are only used for points.

I don't support, the forum is still growing.

The idea is that it grows with decent quality posts, not bullshit posts.

And it's easy to tell the members that are raging against me because of what I said about RS. Good job.

I agree with this 100%, Although its a new site, we still need abit of quality.

If we start with high quality, it will grow to be high quality.
New members will come and see it's high quality and try to meet that standard of quality.

I don't understand why you're complaining in all honesty. You're Moderator of that section. Just because the Lobby has gotten an extra boost in activity doesn't mean anything. If a thread is spam/low quality, you have the ability to close/trash the thread. If it's not low quality, then you have no basis to complain against.

That's all great and hunky dory, but Solidify isn't always on to get the spam/low quality at a low.

Then the users can report the spam.

They can indeed, however a user's perspective could be different to a member of staff's.

This could cause unfair warning, closing of threads etc.
