New Registration Security

Well ive decided to add some more security to the register page of the forum. Ive added higher quality captcha (reCaptcha III) and also security questions.

Because of this im tempted to allow instant activation if both are completed correctly. Can I have you thoughts on this please?

Not bad, just remember that lots of people stop the reg process after seeing a hard captcha.

Yer but you can always refresh the captcha if its too hard, or listen to it.

For a short time i left captcha off and relied on my anti-spam and the fact that spam bots dont usually enter a valid email address to activate their accounts. But every so often one would slip through, which is the reason for in the increase in security.

i think the same as factor but if it keeps spamers away then i agree with bleepy maybe leave it as a trial for a week or 2 and if ppl still register leave it

What put me off forums was having to go to my emails and wait for an activation email.
But I think having Captcha, Security Questions and Email Activation is asking too much.

Ive got it at Captcha and Security Questions for the time being and we will see how it goes.
Im pushing the forum in the next few weeks so we will see.
