With a new attack that targets a security vulnerability in Oracle’s Java spreading through the hacker underground and no available fix in sight, it may be time for users to deal with the plugin’s bug themselves–by unplugging it.

I will be disabling Java for sure, I have no need for it and I really don't want to get infected with something.

Just use the RS webclient

*Sigh* Runescape isn't the only thing in the world that uses java.

I will be looking into this, I use a lot that requires java though.

I dont want to click links but So how does it infect us? Just by going on a site and It would be a silent infection
Would they infect Mac's? and Could you avoid getting infected by just not going to any non secure site?

Like lets say if I only go on youtube and hotmail There is no way I could get infected but if I go to porn sites I would have a chance of getting infected by this new java exploit thing even tho I have security measures?

k ill only get on rs then

It's silent. It will not ask for permission to run...

Disable Java in your browser and download the RS client.

There is no need to disable Java as long as you have updated it to 7.7. 0Day doesn't work on the newest version of Java.
