I'm debating on whether I should get a macbook or another laptop. Here is what I was looking at.

HP: http://www.amazon.com/HP-17t-j000-F...UTF8&qid=1383088771&sr=1-4&keywords=hp+laptop

Macbook: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0096VBXQE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I like like macs because I seem to never have any trouble with viruses lol.

If you have any other laptop recommendations that would be great. I'll also be using it to browse the internet, stream, and most likely college.

You will regret buying the Dell. I"m no Mac fan but I'll def tell anyone I see to avoid Dell they are garbage.

What exactly is it you want to do on your new laptop?
gaming? editing? porn? homework?
let me know, and your budget, and i'll see what I can find.

Thanks for your input Fear aha I won't get a Dell for sure.

Updated the OP with two laptops. Still need recommendations. I won't be getting one till the end of November, so I have time to think about it.

I'll just be using it to DL movies, stream, and browse the internet. I also want to get into photo editing, as I want to get a DSLR camera next.

Then get the Macbook. They're much nicer computers.

Go with the HP. Larger Screen, Shitload bigger HD (256GB vs. 2TB free space with a 120 GB SSD for your OS), GHz is the same but it's Quad Core vs. the Macs Dual Core so it'll be able to manage more applications at once and you had a small amount of room for slight overlocking, it has 8GB more RAM, and it's i7 vs. the Mac which is i5. Choice is clear here.

I would go with the Macbook, I own two and I can't believe I've ever used windows computers. Apple for the win.

Photo editing would be better on the Mac as you'd have the Retina display, therefore much higher pixel density making it easier to do those more refined edits on photos.

However price > performance, the HP wins, on paper.

If you're looking for real performance for the same price you'd be better off building a desktop. You can do all of the same things plus play what ever game you could possibly want. My build cost about what you're going to spend on a laptop.

Build

If you still need help, get a MacBook. I've had mine for three years and I love it. You'll never want to use a windows again.

Buy the best one & get it refunded? Profit....
