When people say they're going to commit suicide when it comes to me 1% out of the other 99% actually do it. I don't think you have to go that far to get attention.

if its 1% out of the 99 percent, that means 98% dont do it. its 1% out of 1 hundo

I agree to an extent.

I feel like those who are actually into self harm don't brag about it, or use it as a threat.
(Suicide, cutting, eating disorders, etc)
It's extremely personal and those who do it, don't actually want to, but are mentally "out of control".

I know this may sound mean, but 100% of the time, I call bullshit.
It's definitely for attention if someone posts their "problem" on something very public, Especially on social networks. The reason I'm referring more towards online is because I've never had someone actually just come up to me irl and say "Hey, I'm going to go commit suicide."

May be irrelevant, but I also feel the same way towards people who use the "cancer card" for sympathy.
I've had tons of family members who have passed away from cancer.
So someone using it for attention, is extremely disappointing and looked down upon.

If you're depressed I get it, but lying for people to feel bad for you is kind of low.
