Just found out yesterday that my girlfriend has iron-deficiency anemia. Could anyone tell me some foods, fruits, vegetables, etc. that contain a high percentage % of iron in them? Want to make sure I can keep her iron levels high. Looking for helpful responses only. No spam or trolling. Leave that for its proper section. Any answers would be helpful. I'm going to the grocery store later. Thanks.

If I were you, I honestly wouldn't come here to ask people. But since you did, take a look here. Google is your best friend in situations you do not know how to handle. Remember that.

Good Non-Meal foods for Anemic people
- Spinach and other dark green leafy vegetables
- Tofu
- Peas; lentils; white, red, and baked beans; soybeans; and chickpeas
- Dried fruits, such as prunes, raisins, and apricots
- Prune juice
- Iron-fortified cereals and breads

Try to get more of these In her foods:
Vitamin B12
Folic Acid
Vitamin C

/anemia

Low levels of vitamins or iron in the body can cause some types of anemia. These low levels may be due to bad diet or certain diseases or conditions.

I'm not sure how Helpful that Is, But do some proper research, I hope this get's better.

To boost the amount of iron in your diet, try these foods:
Red meat.
Egg yolks.
Dark, leafy greens (spinach, collards)
Dried fruit (prunes, raisins)
Iron-enriched cereals and grains (check the labels)
Mollusks (oysters, clams, scallops)
Turkey or chicken giblets.
Beans, lentils, chick peas and soybeans.

Thank you. I've started writing all of this down. I really appreciate it.

I'll probably pick up some B12 Vitamin capsules at CVS on my way out. Thanks. I know I could've used Google but I'd rather hear people on here tell me what to get than some ChaCha / Yahoo Answers bullshit. They're usually a lot less helpful.

@Trap Lol you realize all those people above that gave you answers used Google right suggest you Google things rather then to aski some wierdos on here :p

I give my grandma ensure PLUS; she drinks it all and it helps her out. It's a tad expensive.

Well here's a non-Google answer. So I appreciate this as well. I'm not worried about the cost. Just want to make sure she's healthy. I'll give it a shot.

Yea and they have different flavors vanilla, chocolate, etc.. make sure it's the plus version and not pediasure.

There you go a non-Google answer from someone who knows someone with the same experience ;0

I didn't use google, I used that sketchy muthafucker Ask Jeeves

Just look on google, I wish I could help but I know nothing what has high levels of iron apart from cereal.
