For video and sound Editing, you cannot beat windows. I have been graphic designing and Video Editing for just over 2 years. I have tried video editing on many platforms and OS's. Nothing has beaten windows so far.
Also, for playback and driver performance, windows beats out anything in it's class.
I could go on, comparing the two but then this thread would turn into a 931284918357128357123 page debate.
Mac is a preferred OS for graphic design and yea as far as video editing goes windows platforms win there, but we are referring to the overall quality, stability, and security of the operating systems, windows lacks heavily in security.

Windows does lack very badly in security, but if you have a half decent background of programming, windows has some nice functions that you can use in programs to help detect and remove threats. These can be easily implemented into a 3 step warning system that detects, warns, waits for action and then removes on request.
Graphic design also depends on types. Mac is preferred but windows performs better in doing calculations and other tasks faster.
As for quality - windows wins.
Stability - I would say they are both equal.
As for cleanliness - I would say they are both on par as for windows you can install custom visual styles that look much cleaner. Mac overall I do prefer, that is if I run bootcamp. As then I get the best of both worlds.
