Is this a good monitor for console gaming, both, competitive fast paced games and normal RPGs; FPSs?

Not up on specs when it comes to this because I recently transitioned from the standard "tube" televisions to the more modern day scene of gaming.

I have a Dynex HD TV and the input lag is too noticeable, so I am aiming for a monitor. Any tip, help. or reference would be gladly appreciated.

For FPS games in particular, you will want a monitor with a high refresh rate. 60hz is the standard for most monitors these days, as is the one you linked above.
For serious FPS you will want something with a refresh rate of above 120hz.
Unfortunately, with quality comes a bigger price tag. The equivalent 'gaming version' of the monitor you linked is over double the price.

What exactly does the refresh rate do?
Is it linked to the input lag?

Think about this. Consoles usually limit 60 hz. That monitor can handle 120 hz. Gameplay is 2x smoother with that monitor.

For Xbox One, I play on my BenQ RL2455HM Monitor. $199.

I Have BeNQ Cod champs one good monitor if anything buy BenQ

I would get a BenQ man. I just purchased one from walmart. Its made for gaming, has really nice quality, and is really nice. I got it for $159 which is not bad at all
