I was thinking of using one of my ubuntu lappys to bot 24/7 for about a week.

Something f2p until I make enough cash for a mem pin.

Any suggestions?

Mining or ess running is what I'm thinking.

Due to the lack of information I got, I don't know what bots you have avaliable or your stats. I'd highly suggest you go and have a look here [http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Money_making_guide] and choose the skill (In the free to play column) that corresponds to the bot(s) you have.

I would say iron ore.
 
I bot iron ore and it works fine for me.
I think the top 3 f2p money makers in no particular order are wc fishing and mining.
 
thats good for me. ive got 1 bot on fishing swordfishes, one bot on cutting yews, and one on mining ore. im hoping to upgrade a member 2 supporter or buy someone elite
 
Just mine iron ore, best/fastest way IMO.
 
I'd say iron or swordies, most others seem to be suggesting the same here so
