BSU 9.7.2012! - Character Portraits Edition
BSU 9.7.2012! - Character Portraits Edition
This week's BSU is about enjoying the extra shine polish on games; While we're honestly trying to make the game work properly before adding the extra "flair" (like Win or lose poses, or glowy hitsparks), we couldn't resist but experiment with an idea:
Some games have reactive portraits, that change as health decreases or your character gets hit. We thought it was cool. It's usefulness in the conveyance department isn't exactly legendary, but it's one of those little things that make you smile, (and keeps Leedin's OCD busy... <.<)
Below you'll find some of the game character portraits in their WIP states. They're used as select screen icons, for the Health bar GUI, and, of course, for the roster up there in the site's header.
The portraits in use
And an example of their reactive change to the fight. Rarity's gethit Portrait and Twi's Magic/Super Portrait
The portraits, acting as icons in the VS select screen.
In an unrelated note: Yeah, The japanese is there to stay. Small fun detail we joked about and ended up liking.
___
Bite-Size Updates' content is HIGHLY a work in progress, and as such, it might differ more wildly from the finished product than our regular, carefully-planned and gone-over updates are.
Content shown here is meant to give people a better look "behind the scenes" to the development process of Fighting is Magic, and as such, might change in a future (or have changed already); While it gives a great representation of our working process, it might not reflect the final product/live release accurately, due to later mechanic and content change decisions or adjustments.
