MineCraft: Is it worth the buy?

Well, basically, i've seen so many threads on people selling and trading gamertags and live for MineCraft, is this game really hot shit that everyone claims to be? I played the demo but it seemed limited >_>
 
Yes it is , minecraft is my favorite game and have no regrets from purchasing it.
 
No it isnt minecraft is a bad game and for little kids. I do not understand everyones fascination with it
 
I understand that you build things but what's the objective of the game? To build the most you can or something? Also, my friend told me people can join your game and destroy your structures. That doesn't sound to good lol.

Lol they can but you can kick them from your game
 
Just put your game on invite only so nobody can join unless they are invited.

You sound like I did the day before my friend made me buy it on the computer.

It's just one of those games, it has it's own class, and I love it.

I just finished building a castle with a Giant accurate to-scale creeper statue.

I would say I bought it for building
 
Haha, it seemed alright in the demo but i kept dieing at nighttime. To me that's a little frustrating since it went to nighttime pretty quickly. -_-
 
In the full game you can change the game setting to peaceful will makes no creatures at night attack you , which helps you get more used to the game and collect weapons and tools t help you build a base and gather food , before you change the settings back to easy or medium etc where you are then prone to nighttime creature
 
If you're a big fan of the PC version and all it's updates and were expecting a port with everything included, then no, it isn't a good buy as it's lacking all the major and fun updates and the world size is extremely limited. On the PC, it takes 500 hours of non-step walking to reach the end, on the XBox it takes about 5-10 minutes. The XBox will supposedly be getting updated to fix this, but I was dissapointed with what I got. However if you're new to MC (meaning you don't know what it should actually be like) and your friends have it, its a fun game to play.
