Seems like it would be best to just show a little pop-up saying "RR has merged with RG and you will be redirected in 5 seconds." or something like that

Or you could just make both forums interlace together. Such as, "click here for runerev!" and "click here for runegear!"

Yeah. The reupload of the RuneRevolution board serves its purpose to redirect members, but posting should definitely be disabled.
