Marijuana Legalization

So what are your views on the Legalization of cannabis? How long do you think it will take to be legalized world-wide such as tobacco, or is it ever going to be legalized world-wide. Personally i'm Canadian, and a liberal. The liberal party has decided to support marijuana possession. They have decided that if they get into power that cannabis will be taxed almost like a pack of cigarettes which is quite extraordinaire through it's simplicity. Imagine opening a pack of joints. Anyways guys what's your views.

I wouldn't mind it being legalized but think about all the drug dealers who make a living selling weed & now all of a sudden there are stores that sell it cheaper then them & the dealers lose all their money...

Drug dealers will most likely remain active but the amount of them will be reduced. The htc level in the cannabis sold and moderated by the government will be 11.1. That means there will still be a market for the stronger stuff.
 
It's a great idea and I am a strong advocate of leagalization but I can't help thinking that if legalized; cannabis will increase the use of stronger drugs such as prescription medication. I only say this because I've seen first hand what heavy marijuana consumption can do to people our age and although various studies show otherwise; I still believe that for many, the heavy use of this substance leads to the experimentation of other drugs. This of course all depends on the consumer. If this moves from the classification of an occasional consumed substance into an often consumed substance than I believe that the legalization will have a profound impact on our generation.

I completely understand, I know a few friends that said they would only consume cannabis and I've seen them try MDMA, LSD shrooms. So I would agree that yes the chances of getting addicted to another drug is quite high but yet it's the persons fault. For example I smoke weed and been offered countless times other drugs as well as tobacco. I have declined every time. I know what's best for me. Some people just can't say no unfortunately.
 
Sometimes I think about all the good times I have just sitting around smoking with friends and ALMOST getting busted, and I can't help but think maybe I'd be content with them just decriminalizing marijuana.

i would like it decriminalized. i shouldn't get in trouble for having a flower that makes me feel good.
