At our School we have Laptops, and of course knowing me I downloaded Google Chrome a few years back, sure beats Internet Explorer. So yeah, I got in trouble eventually (Took them a while to get me, If I do say myself..) and It was taken away for quite a while, but now, they are preloading Google Chrome on the Laptops for students to use.

Like...Really? Lmfao.

This so called "Tech Lady" has to learn off me to know anything, She barely knows anything of computers, I swear.

I've gotten around their security numerous times.

Oh, they are lol. The only reason she is "semi" good at computers, is because the software the school uses to control the computers, literally gives her buttons to click to do things.

Not any bit of coding/programming or computer knowledge required.
 
I don't know what kind of schools you guys to, but I remember in high school, my districts network was fucking insane.

Our school's network is pretty insane, but it still sucks. We have laptops too.
 
dafuq would you get in trouble for having a different browser for?
IE owns your school and Google bought it for the rights to have their software installed onto your devices?

totally kidding, seriously though...tell them that they're hypocrites.
 
i used to get in trouble for snooping in places i shouldn't be.

someone got expelled for sending an email through one of the VP's Email.

But I think I used the computers like once at school in my final 2 years.
 
lol. Schools already do things like that which seem pointless. You download Chrome, you get in trouble, they download Chrome on all. Similar to that at my school that I used to go to: if you left school during lunch to go to the mall for food and they caught you coming back, you would get out of school suspension. Makes sense....your punishment is you have to leave school and miss all your classes for leaving school just during lunch (and then coming back on time)? Derp.
 

My school they limited the sound so that you have to use headphones to have sound. On some computers.
 
All I know is that, We have HP Laptops. (6570b or something). They suck, Can't run anything, and they are slow.

The sixth graders get new HP ProBooks, 4GB of RAM, Intel i3/i5 processors (Depending on the direct model) and Intel HD 4000 Graphics.

They too limit the sound control.
 
Stupidest thing ever. Youtube videos aren't instructional without sound.
 
we had pretty bad spec pcs at school.. but the ones at work are pretty good.

a lot of people there use dual monitors too, which is pretty cool.
 
You have laptops in your school.. the f*ck.

I hate going to a poor innercity school.
 
Why don't you present to them your case?

I firmly believe that the school system needs to be ran in a fair manor.
 
They wouldn't listen to me, the school computer program is ran by a bunch of idiots who think they know everything there is to know about computers.

We might have laptops, but they suck. Especially when they block almost everything, Can't even change your appearance (theme) or the way you want your background tiled/centered or stretched.

Obviously I can get around most things they put up, but there is always a roadblock you can't get past without getting in some serious trouble.
