Laptop Recommendations around 400

I have decided I'm getting a laptop but im only looking to spend 400 maybe 500 at the most. All I need it for is school work like powerpoints and essays, google, youtube, definitely FK, and hitting kids off in league because I suck. Let me know and I will not be buying this online only at stores since amazon blacklisted me.

I have a Surface Pro 2. Its not bad, some functions could be improved, but its portable and really good for having multiple things open at once. Really good for having IPs up and booting. LOL but seriously I'd recommend one, although it's outside your price range.

I can go more I'm just trying to get one for booting and my main stuff I'm still getting one for gaming lol. I also do not want a touchscreen.

Yea I use mine for school and its great. It has a separate interface for desktop mode and "browsing" mode. And you have all the windows programs like PowerPoint and Office.
