laptop is up and running after upgrades!

now, most of you won't read this but oh well!

i've been rather inactive due to awaiting parts for my HP Beats laptop.

changes i've made are 4GB 1066mhz RAM --> 8GB (4GB x2) 1333mhz RAM.

640GB 5400rpm HDD --> 120GB OCZ Agility III SSD.

the speed is SO much better.

i highly recommend that any of you considering the SSD upgrade.
DO IT.

Current specs of my laptop -

Intel i7 2630QM processor. (quad-core at 2ghz per core)
8GB of Crucial 1333mhz RAM.
120GB OCZ Agility SSD.
ATI Radeon 6490m 1GB of DDR5 graphics memory.
Windows 7 home premium.
Beats audio system.
500GB Western Digital USB 3.0 external HDD.


so my laptop is now working again. all is well.

8Gb Ram overkill for a laptop? Also I recommend if your laptop can fit two drives, use the SSD just to boot the OS and another normal HDD for storage.

nah i video edit and do a little bit of gaming so the 8GB is always nice to lean back on to support the i7 chip.

it can fit two drives if i take out the optical drive. which i've considered but decided against it

i forgot to add that i have a 500GB Western Digital USB 3.0 external HDD for music, video, pictures, documents, etc.
