Laptop died

Long story short, automatic windows update didn't end so well. Restarted laptop, wouldn't turn on after the update. Blue screen of death popped up stating it shut down the computer to ensure that it doesn't get damaged, and to restart it again. Restarting it didn't work, after 15 minutes of waiting, it outputted the error that there was no operating system installed on the computer.

When that happens, you know somethings wrong. I talked to tech support, they asked for the laptop. I won't get it back for 3-4 weeks. Now I'm sitting on my Mac thinking to myself, "Thank God I had a backup".

Pretty much I lost a lot of things I had been working on, such as forum designs, etc. Sucks but I'll recover it later (hopefully).

I got a feeling you wont get much back dude, lets just hope you do.

Ahh man, sucks. Atleast you had a back-up bro. I hope you everything works out fine.

I have a backup Mac as well

Although I hate it >.>

I'd recommend backing up stuff that you work on onto a portable Hard Drive that's what I do when I'm either being paid or anything I find valuable aswell.

Current losses seem quite small when I think about it, glad I had a backup. I've only lost a few things, although some I would have loved to still be on this laptop, there's nothing I can do about it. Just going to cut my losses.

Could you by any chance give me the laptop brand n shit, i want to make a memorial video :'(

LOLOLOLOL Bad luck............... :3

Wow, how is it funny his hard earned work has been screwed over by an update.

Well on the bright side whatever you were developing I am sure you can rebuild it quicker and better because you've already done it once, right?

My sister had this same problem, she had to get a new hard drive installed.

You should keep your most important things on an external harddrive!
Thanks for the update brah.

Sorry to hear that man, my computer has broken down multiple times and fixing it can be a huge pain, although you can occasionally find a shop or two that will check out your laptop for free and then charge you a high price to get it fixed on the spot. (Take the information they gave you and go somewhere else)
I know you've already sent it in but just future references to others.

Vanquish, actually you shouldn't keep them on external harddrives, internal drives are far better supported and external drives are GUARANTEED to fail over time, sometimes only a year.
Best thing you can do is just regular back-ups, something which sucks to get started but routine ones will save your ass one of these days.

You should've contacted me. I have a few ideas on how to fix it pretty quickly.

That's exactly what happened to me on my mac. But thankfully on a Mac just press C and it boots from disk no matter what.

That sucks man! Really lucky you had a backup. I would be devastated if my laptop died because I don't have a backup.
