Yes, you very well can, for Onyx you need 12 Koins before you're able to purchase the upgrade.

Yes you can upgrade using Koins, however the only upgrade you can get with Koins is Onyx.
To purchase Onyx you'll need 12 Koins, for any other upgrades you'll either have to win them in a giveaway or pay for them.

As you can see from all the people above me, yes you can. Personally, I think it a pretty good deal. 12 Koins for a Years worth of Onyx?! I'm probably gonna get this when I hit 12 koins... Maybe

Because Philly changed the prices. It used to be 12, now it's 36. You can always buy my koins if you want.
