I was delighted to to be informed yesterday that "The gamertag Organism [was] no longer allowed on Xbox Live." I Got a message reading that around 5:30 pm, and I basically shit my pants. I couldn't play online, and I was told to change my gamertag immediately.
Of course being the stubborn over-achiever I am, I challenged Microsoft's horrible judgment and called in to ask why my gamertag may be considered offensive and why it has been "not allowed". The guy told me he had no control on the topic, like very MS employee does, and he told me to post on a forum on the xbox website.
I decided anything was worth trying to keep my gamertag, so I posted a big long thread asking why I had been FNC'd.
2 hours later, I received an e-mail from Microsoft claiming that they had made a mistake and it also included a code for 800 MSP. So, I managed to save my dream tag and get some profit.
Moral of the story is, don't take no for an answer. Microsoft actually is capable of helping.
