Jtag Questions

Considering purchasing a jtag for myself. I have several questions, the most pressing of which is: would I need a working retail xbox in order to use the jtag? I hear that in order to host xp in games such as cod4 mw2-3 you need to have a working retail xbox that coincides with your jtagged console. If possible please leave some feedback regarding this below.

Before purchasing an exploited console, go look at/read tutorials and other research. I would suggest knowing what you're doing before you get one.

On your specific question, that is true. I'm not too sure about MW1 or MW3 because I never hosted XP on those games, but for MW2 you need a retail xbox unless you want to host XP lobbies while on Stealth. lol.

If you're only getting one to host, I wouldn't... but that's just my opinion.

No, you do not need a retail console to host XP lobbies.
However, if you choose to host lobbies (such as XP) from your JTAG/RGH console then you will need the extra cash to buy XBLSE which is a plugin that allows you to connect to live.
It's cheaper to do it the retail way because you will not have to purchase XBLSE for you to do these types of lobbies.

@profanity Would you mind taking a quick look at this ad for me. I believe it has the capability of hosting without a retail. Would like to hear your thoughts on it.

Should've mentioned that XBLSE costs $20 a DAY

@"Norway", that guy seems new to modding as am I.
I suggest getting a RGH console as it is without anything preloaded so you can build it up yourself.
If you buy it straight like this, you won't know what to do.

By the way, I picked up my console 2 weeks ago for $150 from a guy in Hamilton. I could hook you up, let me know.

I'll try. Just fixed mine a couple months ago lol. It was stuck on the splash screen.

My retail dash won't update even though I'm on the latest dash .
The files get corrupt after the first part.

Actually you can host lobbies with a retail for cod 4 and mw2.
its called R2R (Retail to retail) you can infect yourself with mods and then use them in private match cod 4 you can use a mod menu and do a lot of shit with MW2 is a lil diffrent not as much mods but still can host stuff without buying XBLSE as for other games they are not able to do with just system link invection

When I first bought stealth and set it up, I was prompted to do a dashboard update. I clicked update and after the first part, a red light came on the power brick. After that the retail console was really glitchy. Missing letters, freezed constantly, weird glitchy boxes and wouldn't let me connect to live properly. I figured away to go back to before the update (selecting FSD from XeX will bring up a message saying the dashboard is corrupt) and it'll restart fixing itself. I tried doing it manually from the files they provide at Xbox.com but the same issue happened. This time, no red dots, but still glitches and doesn't update fully.

Why does it matter what dash it's on, I thought we were talking about your jtag ur getting.
