It's just a game.

Since MW3 has come out, most of my friends have been talking about the game and pretty much worshiping it.

People in general are skipping school, not doing assignments, and some people will even sit there and play without eating. I mean seriously. This is why I am coming to dislike video games in general. It takes away from peoples education (mine included). If I didn't have a xbox, I would probably have a 3.8 + GPA.

I have a friend who is in the computer science major like me. He doesn't study though, he just plays video games. Then he comes to me for help with shit.

Honestly, what do you get in the long run from sitting down and playing a game? You don't get a damn good thing to come out of it. If you like to be on the computer so much, then do some research on the computer and learn something about what your interested in. For me, I go on programming websites like dreamincode.net and stackoverflow to read peoples problem with there code. That right there is learning something with the least amount of effort being put in.

I honestly think, that video games are the reason why we have so many idiot teenagers and young people in the country and maybe even world. Without them, teens would be more educated and probably more sophisticated.

Playing video games is a choice. Put the controller down, and pick up the pencil if you feel this way.

I dont play games for more than 1 or 2 hours a day, if that. I am not even buying MW3. That's why I still have a 3.5 gpa and have time to study and do real shit. Thanks for proving my point Will.

If you really care so much about it being just a game, cut yourself off of the xbox completely. I haven't touched the xbox in over 2 months and quite frankly, I don't even want to buy MW3 because I know I'll get addicted to it. The longer you don't play the game the less you care about it, so if you really want to get that 3.8+ GPA that you said you would have, then go and get it. And about you saying your friend is asking you for help, just say no to him because he is playing the game all day instead of doing his own work. No need to complain of what other's people lifestyles are, because everyone has a different way of life.

Trying and making more money with it. All my money? I don't think so. I don't play rs, and I never sat down and played it for hours at a time.

You can make a living off of playing some video games professionally. Although, I do know what you're getting at.

I agree that you can't tell people how to live their lives, but he is completely right. The education level has slipped so far and continues slipping. I see it in school everyday, and games play a huge part of this. If people spent even half the time they do on stuff like gaming for better themselves, society would be much more advanced.

It's just a game, I agree. I haven't played xbox in MONTHS, much less do I give up doing school work to play on my computer.

In relation to the original point, i believe it is good that there are distractions like games because in the real world there will be distractions and you youself has to ignore them.

And theres nothing wrong with wanting to escape from reality everyone once in a while life can suck sometimes
