Well, I'm flipping coal currently. It's working quite well, and no work needed. =)
You buy 25000 coal for about 15gp below mid (somewhere around there, the prices people sell at change constantly, but it's usually around there) for about 7m, then you sell them for mid price.
25000x15=375000
It's about 375k profit each time you flip, and you can keep doing it, the price is really stable. You want to flip stable items.

Go here, and just look at the most traded items. Flip these. It's usually very stable if it's traded often, and these are the most traded items in the game, so they're the most stable.
Make sure to look at the chart too, though, just to decide the best items to invest in.
