Is this a good gaming rig?

I'm about to drop around $1000 to build myself a new gaming pc. Does anyone have any recommendations for me? I want the best hardware in the $1000 range. Here's what I have in mind right now:

I5 4670k
EVGA GTX 770 sc
Asus z97-a motherboard
Kingston hyper x fury 8gb ram
Corsair carbide series 300r case
WD blu 1tb hard drive
Lite-on dvd writer
Corsair 750w psu

That is completely capable of being a gaming machine. But as games progress they become bigger which means you need a good drive to load them without wanting to kill yourself. I'd recommend a small SSD to move a game onto and off of every now and then. Also stretch for an i7 4770k, it's worth it.
