i've heard a lot of this but can you share your views? people are hired because of the schools they come from.graduates from reputable schools in GENERAL get the highest paid jobs most of the time and those from ordinary schools need to prove their worth to get the job. More often than not people are labeled as intelligent and fit for the job because of their education and not for their efficiency and other factors that they can offer the company

i think that the school where you graduated from matters when you apply for your first job.when you apply for your second job,your employer will base his expectations from your previous job and not from where you graduated.

Reputable school is a way how to build your first impression to the employer. We know how discriminating the world is today and most employers check your educational background if you haven't build yet your professional career or what you called amateurs. If you got an remarkable achievement and experiences found on your resume, then that's the next factor to continue qualifying you for a certain post. Assessment comes next which includes examination and final interviews which will determine if you are qualified or not.

Anyway, i don't believe with "First Impression" as the basis for the entire things, but it's a way to start on how to deal things over, as far as what I understand from the people who says that a school/university is a Big Factor to consider to distinguish the competence of a certain career seeker.

Well yes, unfortunately this is a fact. When we apply for jobs the school we come from could become our edge to get the job. But then this is not always the case. Sometimes if you are good in human relations and you have good personality, you get hired pretty fast too. It's not all about the school, but school is still a factor though.

Yes, it's true. Nowadays, employer check where the applicant graduated. It's a big plus for a person if he/she came from a known school. It's discriminating a person and I feel bad for them. I know that employers are just making sure that they will got a good worker for their company. That's life. All those people who didn't graduate in a good and known school should prove themselves first before got accepted in companies.
