Is it possible to get rid of cigarettes?

In the past, mainly french and US movies & advertisements used cigarettes as a symbol of romance, charm, and manhood. But things have changed and nowadays we are more focused on the dangers of tobacco.

But many smokers find hard to stop smoking.

According to you, what is the solution?
 
This might be better in Debate but if we discontinued it right away, many people would be angry. Gradually people must know the danger for themselves and decide on themselves if cigarettes are worth it or not.
 
Oh, sorry! It's my mistake! I don't know how to put this thread in the "Debate" section or maybe i should ask to the admin! Whatever! I see there are a lot of threads here that should be in the "Debate" section too.
 
Erm yes it is possible to get rid of them. And the solution is not drugs or God knows what methods... It`s all about your will... if you wanna get rid of them, do it! Just say stop and that`s it. That is if you really wanna get rid of them.
 
I think that the solution is to use a nicotine patch. This will help with the cravings while the person is trying to quit. It is a great stepping stone to quitting. I have never smoked though so I am not sure if it would work.
 
Well am a smoker too but i can't find any possible way to get rid of it ! Its like you know a regular habit thing ! Its easy to say, why don't you quiet smoking but its hard to do it at the same time! I think the best way is never try smoking!
 
It's no soulution it has gone to far its like stop to drive car you cant do it illegal people will do it anyway.

Yes of course, it will only take lots of determination to stop smoking. Because smoking really is your way to death.

Many smokers think that it is very difficult to quit somoking. But I have seen many people those who have the habit of smoking for years, have quit the smoking in one day. Will power is required only to get rid of anything.
 
I think it is very easy for us non smoker to say that is possible to quit smoking. But in reality, fact is, when one is already hooked on cigarette smoking, it is really hard. I have known a lot of friends who said they will stop smoking, but up to this date, they have not yet. I have heard some said they are in the process of quitting smoking by reducing the amount of sticks they smoke, but statistically speaking, most of them will possibly fail.You see cigarette smoking is a habit that is hard to break. Quitting entails determination, self psychology and deep love for oneself because I think the only reason that will make them, stop if they would, is the fear that their health will be gravely compromised.
 
yeah i think it is possible to get rid of cigarettes coz its just a habit made by us and every habit can be changed...
 
The desire to stop smoking can help but being a avid smoker before and you wanted to stop immediate is impossible .You have to take step by step movement to stop your habit .Strong desire and good meditation will help you from smoking .all the best
 
I think the key to get rid of smoking is self-discipline. It is really hard to quit from something you always doing,so you need to discipline yourself by focusing on the reason why you need to quit smoking. And do it slowly. And also try to divert your mind to other things so you wouldnt tempt to smoke.

Yap I do hope so, especially on my husband, hope he could quit from those bad habit of cigarettes that would not do good with the health, on the other hand it can cause sickness in any part of the body especially on lungs.
