IP Address Question-Xbox Related

I'm currently talking to someone from UK who maybe willing to sell me there major OG tag.
Even though i have created a fresh account, could Microsoft see my IP and ban my other Gamertags i use to sign in on my IP address?
I use Xbox.com obvs not my Xbox one.

Should i be private browsing whilst doing this?

No the account was just created on xbox.com, then simply signed in and used to message the guy.
