thats because runescape is a java browser game.

Runescape is Runescape, it'll lag even if you have a supercomputer. Its not just you, its Jagex.

Maybe if they made it a downloadable game and changed engines to something more reliable then maybe it wouldn't be as shitty as a game. And maybe, just maybe, they'd have more options. But at this point, no. It's too late.
